Brian Runge, why was he able to continue to umpire a game after clearly bumping Mets manager, Jerry Manuel? Players, managers, coaches and fans can be tossed from a game, so why not an umpire. Brain Runge's behavior was clearly in poor judgement and should be punished. If MLB is planning on using instant replay, maybe they should be able to toss an umpire for bad behavior. What's fair is fair. The umpiring, in my opinion, has deteriorated over the years. The arrogance level of the umpires is way out of control. They have definitely let it go to their heads and last night is proof. Stopping play to sweep the plate was a blatent attempt to bate Carlos Beltran into an argument and then bumping Jerry Manuel? I hope the league fines and suspends him for this behavior. Of course, he has no comment after the game. I am sure he needs to check with his lawyer before saying anything. Such a ridiculous world we live in where people have to check with lawyers before saying anything. He wouldn't want to inciminate himself for something he actually did and we all witnessed! Your father should be embarrassed at how his son isn't nearly the umpire he was!
