We like Mike , but not Billy!

Phew, we escaped last nite against the Diamondbacks despite Billy Wagner's second implosion in 4 days. What is wrong with Mr. Wagner all of the sudden?
Mike Pelfrey threw a superb game! That was a great site. Let's hope that's the beginning of something good with him.
Again, the offense did not put up enough of a cushion for the bullpen to hold. They had Brandon Webb on the ropes and let him go for a mere 3 runs. They should have had more. One inning with 3 runs and 11 of zero. Come on offense, WAKE UP!
I agree with Willie Randolph's decision to leave Pelfrey in the game in the 9th inning considering what Wagner did in his last outing. I am not sure I would have pulled him after the first hit. I think I would have gone one more batter to see if he could get a double play or at least one out. What's the worst that could happen, 3-2? It couldn't have turned out worse than it did.
Willie is taking a lot of heat for some of his decisions. The manager is always to blame when a team is underachieving. Why not Oman Minaya? He isn't exactly doing his job. Where is the bullpen help? And while I am at it, can I bring up one of his bad acquisitions? Moises Alou? Come on. Injured after one game back? Everyone knew this was going to be a problem from Day 1. It is a wasted roster position and money. I would have been happier if they spent some more on a younger player they can develop. The players don't seem to care that Willie may be on the outs otherwise you might seem some heart from them. Although, I don't really know if they have one to begin with.
So Carlos Beltran gets a big hit, FINALLY! But one big hit isn't worth millions of dollars. Carlos needs to come through more often. I still can't forget the bat on his shoulder in Game 7 2006 NLCS vs St Louis. You have to swing with two strikes in that situation!
That will not be forgotten any time soon! He needs to do a lot more to erase that memory!
And what is with that celebration at home plate after Beltran hit the game winning home run in the 13th? You would have thought they won a playoff game. I think they need to be a little more humble right now.
Well its game time ....lets see how Mr. Santana fares against the DBacks!
